Breaking Boundaries: Horizontal Thinking vs. Vertical Thinking

This week, Dr. Hunter and her husband headed to the local beach in their motorhome, “the snugglebus” for a little relaxation and recharging. It’s nice to mix things up when you can to get inspired. Do a little work and have some fun too.
Being at the beach is so calming, and you feel grateful you can marvel at such beauty. Especially because life can throw things at us that can really send us spinning and rock our worlds. In times of chaos, it’s easy to “wallow” in the negative and have a pity party. But when you stay in that space, you can’t come up with solutions of how to get out of that situation and make your life better.
That’s what Dr. Hunter gets into on this week’s podcast:
In this episode, Dr. Hunter dives into the concepts of horizontal and vertical thinking, two approaches to problem-solving and creativity. Horizontal thinking keeps you trapped in your thoughts, while vertical thinking pulls you out of the problems, and helps you focus on solutions. Dr. Hunter gives some examples how you can use vertical thinking to figure out any problem and reach for resolutions.
